The Challenge

Krazy Coupon Lady (KCL), a website and app that provides resources, tips, and deals to help people save money on their everyday purchases, sought to dominate the Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BF/CM) period by becoming the foremost source of deal information online. The challenge was to stand out in a fiercely competitive landscape, leveraging SEO to secure top search rankings and drive traffic to their site.

The Solution

Masthead teamed up with KCL to create a detailed plan for boosting SEO. We first identified their target audience: online shoppers, primarily women aged 18 to 55, who are to save money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We then developed and refined information-rich pages designed to capture page 1 search traffic from users searching for deals on major retail outlets and popular products.

We executed this plan by doing a thorough SEO audit, filling in content gaps, and training staff on optimization best practices. Weekly and daily keyword audits enabled the prompt identification of high-competition keywords, thereby facilitating real-time adjustments to the content strategy. KCL published hundreds of optimized pieces of content and updated key pages daily to stay competitive.

The Results

Keyword Rankings: KCL achieved an 887.32% year-over-year growth in top-three keywords, with nearly 1,000 keywords ranking #1 on Google.

Traffic Growth: Search visits and views surged by 63.76% month-over-month during the BF/CM period, driven by targeted content optimization efforts.

Featured Snippets: Featured snippets increased by 21.31% month-over-month, highlighting the effectiveness of targeted content optimization.
